AREAS WHICH FALL OUTSIDE OF THE SSN
The AIPM believes that having a Student Supporter will enhance the learning experience of enrolled students. However it should be made clear from the outset that there are distinct areas which fall outside the role of a Supporter. Should advice be sought in the areas listed below, Students may end up receiving mixed messages in important areas of the course.
- Academic advice on assignments and assessment tasks
The AIPM has a cadre of academically qualified staff, available to students if assistance in this area is required. Students requiring this level of assistance should contact the AIPM Faculty Administration Manager. Accurate and relevant advice can then be relayed to students through the correct academic channels.
- Formal Mentoring
The SSN is not designed to be a mentoring program. Such programs involve rigorous selection and matching of mentors with mentees. Rather, the SSN will provide students with a pool of AIPM Graduates from which they can choose, within their own time frames.
- Counselling
Care should be taken when seeking counselling from a Supporter. The role of a Student Supporter is to provide advice on a practical and preparatory level, rather then a psychological one.
