THE ROLE OF A STUDENT SUPPORTER
The Staff at the AIPM aim to provide a high level of suport to Students enrolled in an AIPM course. Although the AIPM aims to be as transparent as possible in terms of the expectations of the course and to provide students with as much information as possible, some students may benefit greatly by talking to someone who has first hand experience of the AIPM. This is where you will find contacting an AIPM Graduate or Visiting Fellow invaluable, and you can really gain an insight into what the course holds for you.
The Supporter(s) you may choose to contact are all full Graduates of either the Graduate Certificate in Applied Management (AIPM601) and/or Graduate Diploma in Executive Leadership (AIPM701), or have attended one of the courses as a Visiting Fellow.
The sorts of insight, feedback and advice you will gain from a Student Supporter are listed below:
- Practical information on the course (ie how to prepare for the residential, important items to bring, what to expect both mentally and physically, etc).
- Anecdotal feedback of their own experience of an AIPM Course.
- A positive role model (the Supporter will be someone who graduated from a course).
- Provide reassurance and guidance for those students struggling to meet deadlines and juggling competing priorities.
- Boost and maintain morale for those nervous about participating in the course.
- A sounding board for student’s ideas on their assessment topics and assignments (Note: Supporters are not required to provide detailed academic advice).
- The benefits of using the AIPM Resource Centre to prepare for the course.
